About

Manual data entry from aviation logbooks is time-consuming, error-prone, and inefficient—especially when dealing with large volumes. This application was developed to solve that problem by automating the extraction and organization of logbook data using modern OCR technology.

The system allows users to upload scanned logbook images or PDFs, which are then processed using AWS Textract to extract text and form data. The extracted content is intelligently parsed and formatted into structured Excel spreadsheets, making it easy to store, analyze, and share the information.

Built on a serverless AWS architecture, the backend uses Lambda functions triggered by API Gateway, with files stored in S3. Post-processing is handled through custom Python scripts that clean and organize the OCR output, and the final Excel file is delivered directly through the browser.

By combining cloud scalability with AI-based text recognition, this tool helps aviation professionals reduce paperwork overhead and improve data reliability with minimal manual intervention.
